BW... Revealed!

Seeing as this is a historic day -- the day "Don't Ask Don't Tell" officially gets tossed into the trash-bin of history where it belongs -- I thought I might as well take blog in hand to officially unveil the man to whom, for the past three years, I've referred in this space as BW (for "Boy Wonder").

Even though BW and I are no longer a couple, we remain very close. And I have the utmost respect for the 15+ years of service he has given (and continues to give) to this country, all the while facing the terrifying and very real prospect of termination due to his sexual orientation.

BW isn't planning any sort of big public declaration today. (I was personally hoping he'd show up for work in a rainbow-colored cover, greeting his fellow seamen with a casual "Hey, girl." No such luck.) But he did give me full permission to reveal his face and name to you all, at long last.

And so, without further ado, I give you...

Robert Leon Nelson, Jr!
(With me, at Therapy, in 2008.)

Homo proud.

Rob, thank you for doing what I and most Americans would not have the courage, determination, and character to do ourselves. You're a hero.

I still can't believe DADT is over. This was a great way to acknowledge it!
